DSIC, DNV GL to jointly develop intelligent vessel

Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company (DSIC) and classification society DNV GL have signed a joint vessel development project agreement via online conference.

According to the agreement, the two parties will jointly develop an intelligent ship and a 3,500-tonne heavy lift vessel.
DSIC has the resources and experience in technology innovation and development for large-sized oil tanker, containership, bulk carrier and offshore engineering products, upgrading core ship type design and develop intelligent vessel.

DNV GL’s expertise on artificial intelligence, unmanned ship and environment protection will support DSIC in improving the company’s competitiveness in the global market, said Yang Zhizhong, general manager of DSIC.
DSIC has been actively expanding into the European market recently and building up clients from the Middle East and oil industry. The shipbuilder is expected to work with DNV GL in these markets in the near future.
