The project is extended from the current terminal owned by Cosco Shipping Group, which plans to construct an integrated modern logistics hub with terminals, warehouse and river-rail transportation facilities, with a designed annual handling capacity of 1m teu.

Fu Gangfeng, deputy general manager of Cosco Shipping Group said, with the support of Cosc Shipping’s network and partners’ support, the second phase Yangluo international container water-rail project will attract more logistics service providers to come to Wuhan and establish an integrated multi-model transportation service platform.

The project is scheduled to start trial operations in August 2021, and will be fully completed in 2022.

The first phase Yangluo international container river-rail project launched operation at the end of 2017, connecting container port area with rail freight yard directly.

Currently, Yangluo port has three terminal operation areas with a cargo handling capacity of 2.2m teu. Upon the completion of the second phase project, the whole cargo handling capacity of Yangluo will exceed 3m teu, the water-rail transportation capacity of Wuhan will up from 100,000 teu to 500,000 teu.
