SWS awarded FPSO hull from SBM Offshore

Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) and SBM Offshore have inked a contract for the construction of a Fast4Ward FPSO hull.

The FPSO MPF4 hull, adopting SBM Offshore’s Fast4Ward design, has a storage capacity of 2.3m barrels of oil, which could meet the ocean environment in West Africa and South America.
The new construction contract for FPSO MPF4 marks Waigaoqiao is having the mass production capacity of design and constructing FPSO, said Waigaoqiao.

SWS had delivered MPF1 and MPF2 to SBM Offshore in 2019 and 2020. The MPF3 is under construction.
