China ports' container volume rises 11.3pc from January to July

CHINA ports' container volume rose 11.3 per cent from January to July 2021 to 8.9 billion tons, reports the American Journal of Transportation.
Container throughput rose 12.4 per cent, totaling 161.9 million TEU.
The average value of the Ningbo Container Freight index (NCFI) in August increased 7.28 per cent compared to the last month, a total of 3,816.8 points.
The average freight rate of 40GP from Ningbo port to Los Angeles port in August was US$6,559, an increase of 15.3 per cent compared to last month. From Ningbo port to New York-NJ port was $6,443, an increase of 10.8 per cent.
