THE total container throughput via the Baltic basin ports decreased one per cent in November 2021 year on year, reports St Petersburg's SeaNews.
Imports were down 5.5 per cent, and transit was down 27.1 per cent. Meanwhile, exports grew 10.6 per cent.
The total container traffic via all the Russian seaports in November 2021 amounted to 42.2 per cent.
Laden container throughput decreased 1.8 per cent year-on-year.
Reefer containers accounted for 13.8 per cent of the total laden container traffic, and dry containers for 86.2 per cent.
Transit made 9.4 per cent of all the laden containers, exports 40.9 per cent, and imports 49.7 per cent. Empty container traffic increased 4.1 per cent.
The Port of St Petersburg accounted for 78.4 per cent of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian Baltic basin seaports in November. Kaliningrad handled 20.8 per cent and Ust-Luga 0.9 per cent of the total.
