The city government authority suggested that the ship crew members undergo a Covid-19 rapid test upon arrival at a port of Taiwan, and the Central Epidemic Command Center has agreed to start trial run of the plan at the Port of Kaohsiung.
All the ship crew members will need to take a rapid Covid-19 or PCR test within 48 hours before arriving at the port of Kaohsiung. The testing applies for ship crew onboard all international vessels, offshore workboats, and other vessels required by shipping and government authorities.

All the crew members are negative for Covid-19 will be allowed to enter into the port area. Those who have a positive test result must not have contact with personnel boarding their ship.
The week of 1-7 March will be the buffer period of the programme, and the ship crew members will be able to get free rapid tests. After the day of 7 March, the ship operators will need to arrange the rapid tests for the crew by themselves.
