Xpeng expects half its 2025 electric car sales to be overseas

CHINESE smart electric vehicle (EV) start-up Xpeng Motors, of Guangzhou, expects to sell half its output overseas despite rising Sino-American tensions, reports Hong Kong's South China Morning Post.
Xpeng, which went public in New York and Hong Kong in 2020, pins its hopes on Europe. "The competiveness of Chinese products will allow us to make it a more important market in the future," said Xpeng president Brian Gu.
"If we do it successfully, most of our future sales will come from international markets, maybe half. Europe has a welcoming policies and an open market, making it easier for Chinese brands to enter," said Mr Gu.
