HHLA revenue increases 7.7pc to US$1,691 million in 2022

Port of Hamburg principal terminal operator Hamburger Hafen and Logistik (HHLA) increases revenue 7.7 per cent year on year to US$1,691 million in 2022 financial year, reports St Petersburg PortNews.
HHLA's operating result came to $235 million, exceeding the expected range of $187 million to $225 million.
Container throughput saw a decrease in volumes down 7.9 per cent to 6,396 thousand TEU, with the previous year at 6,943 thousand TEU.
The Hamburg container terminals reported a year-on-year decrease of 4.1 per cent.
Despite operational disruptions regarding arrivals to German seaport terminals, the total transport volume remained constant at 1.69 million TEU.
In the listed Port Logistics subgroup, revenue increased 7.4 per cent to $1.65 billion.
The operating result (EBIT) decreased 5.2 per cent year on year to $216 million, which placed it above the expected range of $171 million to $208 million.
The real estate subgroup recorded a 15.9 per cent increase in revenue in the 2022 financial year, bringing it to $47 million.
In the 2022 financial year, HHLA will maintain its results-orientated dividend distribution policy, aiming to pay out between 50 and 70 per cent of the profit for the year after minority interests.
