FOUR 16,000-TEU ships have been ordered by Cosco from its affiliated yard in Yangzhou, reports Singapore's Splash 247.
The delivery is scheduled for the second half of 2025, but the price has not been disclosed.
As per Maersk Broker, the first three vessels will have engines that can be converted to methanol, while the last will have methanol dual-fuel propulsion.
In October of last year, Cosco ordered twelve 24,000-TEU methanol dual fuel ships from NACKS and DACKS, two Chinese yards the company runs in partnership with Kawasaki Heavy Industries.
Meanwhile, Hainan Shipping has ordered two 2,700-TEU ships from Taizhou Kouan in China, with a delivery date set for 2024
