MSC enhances services between Africa, Middle East and India

SWISS-ITALIAN box carrier Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), now the biggest in the world, has announced updates to its India-Africa services enhancing offerings to the Middle East.

MSC's current India Africa Service (IAS) rotation will be updated with direct calls at Coega, Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali, reports Container News.



The new rotation of the service will be as follows with weekly frequency: Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Colombo, Abidjan, Lome, Tema, Coega, Abu Dhabi, Jebel Ali and returning to Mundra.



The first vessel on this new rotation will be MSC Esthi due to arrive in Coega on May 11.



Additionally, the company's India to South Africa Service rotation will be updated to connect the ports of Durban, Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi, creating a direct connection between Durban and the Middle East.



The new rotation of the service will be as follows with weekly frequency: Durban, Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi, Ad Dammam, Bahrain, Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Hazira, Colombo, Port Louis and returning to Durban.



The first vessel on this new rotation will be MSC Roberta and is expected to arrive in Durban on May 10.



"The new calls at these strategic ports will provide MSC customers with improved connections and transit times between Africa, the Middle East Gulf and India and will particularly benefit customers with reefer cargo," said the world's largest container line.
