King Abdullah Port hail record lifting of 20,153 TEU from a single ship

KING Abdullah Economic City, on the Red Sea near Jeddah, has posted the highest volume handled to and from a single ship totalling 20,152 TEU within 77.46 hours working the 13,100-TEU MSC Renee, reports Dubai's Zawya.

"We thank our partners and our employees behind all these achievements for their dedication and hard work," said King Abdullah Port CEO Jay New.



One of the Middle East's largest infrastructure megaprojects, the port is equipped with the world¡¯s largest and most advanced cranes with 18 metres alongside.



Ranked as the world's most efficient port by the World Bank in 2022, the port emerged as one of the world¡¯s top 100 ports in four years of operation.



Occupying 17.4-square kilometres close Jeddah, Holy Makkah, Al Madinah and Yanbu, as well as its direct access to extensive transport networks that facilitates the cargo transport through the kingdom and the rest of the region, the port is making an important contribution in maritime trade and logistics.



Once fully completed, King Abdullah Port will be capable of handling 25 million TEU and 25 million tons of clean bulk cargo annually.
