DANISH shipping giant Maersk has decided to upgrade its FI3 service, connecting Far East Asia with India Subcontinent, adding an extra container ship on the rotation, according to Greece's Container News.

Maersk said it will expand its vessel deployment from six to seven boxships and expects this change to enhance its service capacity in both directions.

Additionally, the Danish box carrier has made alterations to the service port rotation, which will be as follows: Qingdao (China), Xingang (China), Busan (South Korea), Port Klang (Malaysia), Nhava Sheva (India), Pipavav (India), TBC Philippines), Mundra (India), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Port Klang and Singapore.

"We are committed to the continuous improvement of both our product range and the schedule reliability of our services," said Maersk in a statement.

The changes will come into effect from mid-September.
