PAKISTAN International Container Terminal (PICT), part of the ICTSI network, recently welcomed the inaugural call of the China India West Coast X-Press (CWX) service at the Port of Karachi.

The fixed-day weekly service, operated by Xpress Feeders, KMTC and T S Lines, made its first call at PICT with the arrival of the 5,470 TEU Barbara. It's one of six vessels deployed to maintain the service, which offers a fast and direct connection between Central China and India West Coast/Pakistan.
The service calls at the ports of Shanghai, Ningbo and Shekou in China; Singapore; Port Klang in Malaysia; Nhava Sheva in India; Karachi; Mundra in India; Colombo in Sri Lanka; Port Klang; and Hong Kong, before returning to Shanghai.
In addition, PICT is handling calls made by the newly launched Pakistan-United Arab Emirates (PS2) service. Jointly operated by Wan Hai Lines and Global Feeder Shipping, the service links the ports of Jebel Ali and Karachi and uses a single vessel with a nominal capacity of 1,800 TEU. The initiative supports PICT's aim of providing its customers with increasingly frequent vessel connections between Karachi and Jebel Ali, reports Dubai's The Maritime Standard.
