MISC largest VLEC owner in the world with 6th delivery

Malaysian shipowner MISC has taken deliver of its 6th very large ethane carrier (VLEC) from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI).

The 98,000 cu m Seri Elbert is the last of six VLECs acquired by MISC from Zhejiang Satellite Petrochemical in July last year. All six VLECs are on long term charter to from Zhejiang Satellite Petrochemical and signify MISC’s entry into the China market.
Yee Yang Chien, President and Group CEO of MISC said: “We will continue to make great strides as we go on to serve the global ethane market. Our VLECs play a prominent role in addressing the need for large capacity ethane carriers in the supply chain.
