CHINA's CSSC Jiangnan Shipyard, a unit of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, has delivered the fourth 23,000 TEU dual-fuel containership to the French owner CMA CGM.

The vessel, CMA CGM Trocadero, is 399.9 metres in length, 61.3 metres in width, and is currently the world's largest dual-fuel container ship, according to Seatrade Maritime News, Colchester, UK.
The vessel is the eighth of nine vessels CMA CGM Group ordered at two CSSC's yards, CSSC Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding and CSSC Jiangnan Shipyard, and the last one to be constructed by Jiangnan Shipyard.
CMA CGM Trocadero left China on May 29, heading for Northern Europe, and will then be deployed on CMA CGM's Asia-Europe service.
CMA CGM has been at the forefront of the shipping industry's adoption of LNG as a fuel to reduce GHG emissions. The company reported a 4 per cent overall reduction in its CO2 emissions in 2020.
The container line said it had reduced emissions per TEU/km travelled by 49 per cent over 2008 levels, with a target of reducing emissions by 50 per cent by 2030. The line also plans to offer a biomethane-fuelled shipping service.
LNG has increased in popularity as a fuel choice, taking a growing share of the newbuild orderbook.
