FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM has completed its acquisition of Global Container Terminals (GCT) Bayonne and New York terminals, reports PRNewswire.

This bolsters the group's position as a prominent global port terminal operator and reinforces its status as a top-tier supply chain provider in the US, offering end-to-end solutions to customers worldwide.



The addition of Port GCT Bayonne and Port GCT New York to CMA CGM's portfolio of terminals in the United States now brings the total to seven.



This expansion on the US east coast complements the group's earlier acquisition of the Fenix Marine Services container terminal in the Port of Los Angeles.



These two new assets provide the group with flagship terminal operations at a pivotal entry point on the US east coast.



This acquisition enhances the east coast's role in securing the US supply chain and fortifies network resilience.



CMA CGM's terminal division will manage the two multi-user facilities with its existing management team, but the group plans to further develop these terminals, which are integral to the strategic New York/New Jersey gateway, the largest on the US east coast.
